Cities In Rajasthan

Cities of Rajasthan echo the glory of this princely state and are a living symbol of Rajasthan's rich cultural diversity. Packed with history, art and culture, Rajasthan is a treasure - trove of some exquisite palaces, forts, temples and havelis - standing a testimony to the imperial grandeur. Take a backward journey into the time to see for yourself the imperial grandeur of he Fascinating Rajasthan Cities.

There were so many kings in this state that they had to call it the 'Land of Kings'. All the regals (and all their horses and all their men) found this land of golden desert, an amiable pad to reign. Which is why, sometimes, when the wind sings, and the sands shift, and the voice of a passing minstrel finds an echo in the halls of a deserted palace, it is easy to imagine oneself transported into an age long ago when every fairy tales might have been true.

The real charm, of course, lies in exploring the cities and towns sprawled all over the barren landscape of Rajasthan. So rich is the history, that even the trivial roadside villages have their own tales of valour and sacrifice for the telling. The first city you will come across, is obviously, Jaipur, known for its pink painted houses and blue pottery. Travel to Jaisalmer, which will greet you with its splendid Golden Fortress and magnificent golden hues that creep on the walls of the memory. Go to Ranthambhore and you can find tigers ready to be captured in your cams. Enjoy a memorable boat cruise on the emerald waters of Lake Pichola in Udaipur. Pushkar, the elusive pad for the grand Pushkar Fair, has much more to offer than just a pilgrimage.
